Codey Rocky: The Lay of Our “Home and Native” Land (Grade 4-6)
Description
In this lesson, students will learn how to research various facts and information about 4 regions in Canada and create a 2D and 3D model of these regions. Then, students will use programming to have Codey Rocky give a fun tour of these regions using the coding concept of Broadcast messages, along with lights, sounds and images. Students will code Codey Rocky to take you on a tour of these regions within Canada and describe the various plants, animals, geography, people and industry within each region. Students will tour another group's model and learn what they have researched as well as their coding concepts and functions that were used and displayed by Codey Rocky!
Objectives
1. By the end of this lesson students will be able to describe what Broadcast messages are and how they work in giving a tour of Canada's regions.
2. By the end of this lesson students will be able to program Codey Rocky using different broadcast messages, movements and actions to take you on a tour of Canada's regions while describing the interesting facts they have found on each region.
