mBot 2.0: Careful Driving (Gr. 3-8)

Description

In this lesson, students will learn about gyroscopes and how it measures tipping movements and more precisely the speed of turning/tipping movements. Students will learn about accelerometers measuring the change in velocity and how both sensors provide different information about the position in space. Students will learn how to calculate mBot2's position in space using gyroscope and accelerometer sensor data.

Objectives

  • Students will learn how gyroscopes and accelerometers work and how their measurements can be combined
  • Students will learn how to make a robot react to sudden changes and detect crashed or bumpy roads
