Grammar: Gramma-Rama Racers! (Gr. 3-5)
Description
In this lesson, students will work in small groups to design an attachment for Dash to become a Gramma-Rama Racer, scooping up Grammar Fueling Cards while speeding around the Gramma-Rama Raceway. After the race, students will locate and identify each related part of speech in a leveled news article about driverless cars. The winner will be based on time and good grammar.
Objectives
- Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking
- Understand the function of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. (Grades 3 & 4)
- Understand the function of conjunctions, prepositions, and interjections. (Grade 5)
- Demonstrate basic competency within the Blockly app using a variety of programming options including: loops, conditionals, events, functions, and variables
