Climate and Weather: Dashing through the Seasons (Gr. K-1)

Description

In this lesson, students will work in groups to determine a weather-dependent activity related to a season. Using lights, sounds, and movement, they will program Dash to act out a scene related to a seasonal activity.

Objectives

  • Recognize seasonal activities and patterns related to weather
  • Share observations about the weather related to each of the seasons
  • Sketch to illustrate outdoor activities related to each of the seasons
  • Program Dash to make sounds
  • Program Dash to move forward, backward, or turn
  • Program Dash to turn lights and eye ring on or off
