Eye Pattern - students will learn to edit/customize the lights to create an Eye Pattern that resembles a smile.
-
My sound block - students will learn to edit My sound by recording their own expressions in the My sounds block recorder.

When block - students will learn to use the green When block to set a conditional which will execute the subsequent commands in a program when met. Example: Dot will say the second line of the joke after the top button is pushed.
Lesson Procedure
Students will have fun recording themselves saying each line of the joke. For extra fun have students play with inflection, volume and tone of their voices, as well as using accents. In the same way, students use personification in their writing to anthropomorphize an inanimate object, students will program Sounds and Eye Patterns to give Dot a voice and a big smile!
